Lead-in story Link to heading
Lina is in a strange mood. Sam asks why. She says, “I don’t know — I’m tired and slightly proud and a tiny bit jealous all at once.” Sam nods. “That is called Tuesday afternoon,” he says.

Mood scan. Stand on a line: very happy (left wall) → very sad (right wall). Find your spot. No talking. The teacher reads three short statements; students adjust their position.

Common pitfalls Link to heading
- Because + clause; because of + noun: because the rain → ✗ / because of the rain OR because it was raining → ✓.
- so + because in one sentence sounds redundant.
- Pastoral note: keep the mood-line low-stakes. Some feelings are private.
