Mia’s class is in London on a school trip. Big Ben is louder than she expected. The pigeons are bigger. The buses are red and have two floors. Theo wants to ride on the top of every bus they see. Mr. Flint says: “We have a list. We follow the list.”

Common pitfalls Link to heading

  • Big Ben is a tower / clock — actually a bell; the tower is the Elizabeth Tower.
  • Stereotype check: avoid all British people drink tea.
  • L1 trap: German Wo ist der Bahnhof? maps to Where is the station? — no extra do.
