Mia stands at the door of Klasse 5b. The room is new. The chairs are new. Theo, her brother, sits in the back row. He waves. A small red fox is sitting on the windowsill. The fox is not normally there. Mia rubs her eyes. The fox waves. Mia waves back. “Hello,” the fox says. “I’m Frida. Welcome to English.”

- I is ten → ✗ / I am ten → ✓.
- How you are? → ✗ / How are you? → ✓.
- L1 trap: German Wie heißt du? literally maps to What are you called? — the standard English is What’s your name?
