Lead-in story Link to heading
Sam and Lina meet at the fountain in the market square. The square smells of fresh bread and yesterday’s rain. They have one hour before the bus and a list of three errands: the bookshop (a thank-you card), the post office (one stamp, one parcel), and a small bakery that supposedly sells the best apple pastry in town. They argue, briefly, about which to do first.
