We arrived at King’s Cross at 10 a.m. The first stop was the British Museum. Theo wanted to see the mummies. Mia wanted to see the clocks. We had lunch in St James’s Park, on a bench under a tree. After lunch we walked across Tower Bridge. The river was grey, but the bridge was bright blue. At 5 p.m. we took the train back from St Pancras.

Common pitfalls Link to heading
- Big Ben — strictly the bell, not the tower. The tower is the Elizabeth Tower. Both are accepted in everyday English.
- Stereotype check: all British people drink tea — avoid.
- Britain ≠ England ≠ UK; Scotland and Wales are not England.
