This site maps every Unit to a regional curriculum framework (“Bildungsplan”) for Englisch (“Erste Fremdsprache”). The specific framework documents and source URLs are listed in References:
- Sekundarstufe I (Bildungsplan 2016) — Niveau G, M, and E for Klasse 5 to 10.
- Gymnasiale Oberstufe (Bildungsplan 2021) — basic course (“Basisfach”) and Leistungsfach for Klasse 11 to 13.
Each Unit’s front matter declares the Kompetenzen it covers, using the verbatim codes and German labels from bildungsplaene-bw.de.

Every Unit’s front matter contains a bildungsplan: field — for

These codes are pulled, per year group (“Klassenstufe”) and Niveau, from a small
set of YAML resources at _resources/bildungsplan_bw_*.yml. The
resources are the single source of truth — the per-Unit alignment
on each Unit page, the coverage matrix on this page, and the
schedule deep-links are all generated from them.
Kompetenzbereich skeleton Link to heading
The chapter codes and German labels below were fetched on
2026-04-30 directly from https://www.bildungsplaene-bw.de/. They
are reused verbatim in every Unit’s front-matter bildungsplan:
field. Niveau-specific Kompetenzaussagen (the fine-grained
descriptions inside each chapter) are cited point-by-point in each
Unit as it is written.

Inhaltsbezogene Kompetenzen — Sekundarstufe I Link to heading
The curriculum framework (“Bildungsplan”) 2016 Sek I groups the Sekundarstufe-I-Klassen into three Bänder. Each Band repeats the same nine subsections under Funktionale kommunikative Kompetenz (3.x.3.1–3.x.3.9) plus Soziokulturelles Orientierungswissen / Themen (3.x.1), Interkulturelle kommunikative Kompetenz (3.x.2), and Text- und Medienkompetenz (3.x.4).

Niveau-Differenzierung (G / M / E) sits inside each chapter as graded Kompetenzaussagen — the chapter codes themselves are the same across all three Niveaus.

The curriculum framework (“Bildungsplan”) 2021 für die gymnasiale Oberstufe splits Englisch into advanced course (“Leistungsfach”) and basic course (“Basisfach”) with separate chapter ranges:

The detailed YAML for each course lives at
_resources/bildungsplan_bw_<track>_kl<NN>.yml. Currently every
file holds the verbatim chapter skeleton fetched from
bildungsplaene-bw.de plus a notes: field explaining how the
Niveau-specific Kompetenzaussagen are cited inside the Units
themselves.

Status Link to heading
This site is being assembled in seven phases (Preflight → Scaffold → Outline → Prototype → Fan-out → Polish → Handover). The chapter skeleton above is in place (Phase 0 partial). The per-Unit alignment fields and the coverage matrix are finalised as Units land in Phases 3–5. Until then, individual Units display the Bildungsplan section with the chapter codes that apply, even if the fine-grained Kompetenzaussagen are still being authored.
